Floating & Fishing |
|---|
Remote river FLOATING & FISHING are two of
the greatests adventure activities unique to Alaska. We use our
rafts for both types of trips. Rafting trips are normally five to
seven days. Most trips include an airtaxi flight to the most
inexcessible river areas. Rafting allows you to parade past the
wilderness shores of the Alaskan rivers and regions not
accessible by any other means. When the plane leaves we are on
our own. The river and all it's adventure for our personal
pleasure. After each day of floating you will enjoy a comfortable
camp on a sandbar where you are only a step away from World Class
Five Star fishing. We catch all species of Alaskan fish. The ARCTIC
MIDNIGHT SUN will not set. You can fish "around the
clock." Wildlife inhabit the shore as you serenely meander
through wilderness. We travel as far away as the Arctic Circle
for our wilderness trekking adventures where you can day hike
from the river. We avoid dangerous white water on these floats.
Floating, fishing, trekking and rivershore campfires will capture
your heart for the Alaskan Frontier. "Catch and
Release" is the safe and environmentally wise practice of
P.A.A. We eat what we catch. Ask about our special trips this
year. We travel State wide including adventures North of the
Arctic circle.
Chinook "King" salmon
are the first species to arrive. These "Kings" are the
largest salmon averaging over twenty pounds and frequently
growing over fifty pounds. The best King fishing is early June.
The season for Kings is open until the first week of July.
Cohoe "Silver" salmon arrive in early August. These six to fifteen pound fighters are the true sporting fish. Unlike all the other species that "sound" to the bottom when hooked, the cohoe dances across the water like a giant rainbow trout sometimes breaching out of the water in an attempt to throw the hook. I get excited just writing about them. I hope you will be here to meet them with hook, fly and sinker.
ARCTIC CIRCLE FLOAT TRIPS! The remote rivers of
the Arctic North provide the ultimate adventure. Beyond the
village of Kotzibou and above the Arctic Circle lie unfished
waters. These small crystal clear
tributaries of the Arctic tundra remain isolated and frozen
except for the few weeks of summer when they spring to life with
the ultimate sporting fish - Arctic Char. These fighters grow as
long as 34" and weigh up to 17 pounds. In the fall of 1994,
over a three day period, every one in our group hooked and
released over 100 fish each day. I would love to take you there
this fall. We also provide an extra day of fly-out trophy
Northern pike fishing. These monsters frequently exceed 50
inches. This trip requires both commercial airline transportation
from Anchorage as well as air charter service. Good physical
health and condition are mandatory on this remote adventure.
Gear and Tackle are provided. Your personal items including sleeping bag are limited to a single large dry bag. Warm layers of clothing are better than large heavy jackets and parkas. Hip boots or waders will be necessary. We can provide you with generic hip boots and plenty of moleskin and medication for your blisters or you may to choose to purchase your own waders before the trip. We will be living in our boots for several days and comfort is very important. A pair of light weight sneakers or moccasins provide extra comfort. Extra wool socks are a must as well as neoprene gloves and warm head gear such as a wool socks cap. Personal consideration should be given your sleeping bag and rain gear. We can provide it, but you may want to invest in you own good fitting outfit.
Prices from $299 per day!
Commercial airtaxi services are not included.
